CEP-158 Pump Station Modifications

Project Description
The project consisted of demolition and new work for extensive hydraulic upgrades and piping modifications to Building CEP-158. This facility currently serves as a portable water high pressure-boosting loop in the CD and CEP area of Naval Station Norfolk and was originally constructed in 1975. This facility under our contract required extensive hydraulic upgrades and piping modifications. Additionally, work included four (4) vaults located in the CD, CEP, Pier 4, and Pier 5 and minor work at CEP-157, which is the water tower serving the Pump Station.
Exterior Work included demolition of an above ground diesel storage tank, tank level indicator/ transducers/ cathodic protection and rectifier cabinets on the exterior of the building. As well as new concrete pad for a new 120 KW diesel generator and transfer switch beside the building to service emergency power to the pump station.
Miscellaneous tank repairs for CEP 157, the water tower that is located behind the pump station, included welding cover plates, new collars and vents on the top of the facility.
Work on the interior of the building included demolition and installation of four (4) electric driven horizontal split case centrifugal pumps, motors and isolations valves, the 480V main power panel, and transformer. Installation of new fire pumps included two (2) 100 HP Fire Pumps and two (2) 25HP water pumps, motors, pressure booster pumps, motors and VFD controls. Incidental work included general reorientation of existing piping and motor systems, entry door replacement and general painting.
